Ethics in Real Estate
by Ruth Lorenzen
Realtors, such as myself, subscribe to a Code of Ethics. A Code of Ethics establishes obligations that are usually higher than those mandated by law. It's a code based on a practice of fair and honorable dealing without trying to skirt the edges of the law or slip through legal loopholes.
The 2007 Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice of the National Association of REALTORS® is available for viewing online here.
As your real estate agent, I promise to adhere to this Code of Ethics in my dealings with you. By adhering to strict ethical guidelines, I earn the trust of my clients, associates, other realtors, and even their clients.
Here are some testimonials from my clients:
- "Thanks! I love it when my realtor is looking out for me." L.W.
- "I am writing this letter to express my great experience while working with Ruth Lorenzen, my real estate agent in Clearwater, Florida. I mainly live in California and was looking for purchasing property in Clearwater early this year. After a few tries with various realtors, I was particularly impressed with Ruth's quick responses to my numerous requests for information. This is because she is not only very good with computers, but she is also willing to share her professional knowledge with people. That is why I felt very comfortable to buy the house from her without even being there. I fully trusted her as my ears and eyes." HT
- "I feel really well-taken care of." A.W.
- "It's really a pleasure doing business with you. I feel like all my questions get answered and I'm being dealt with well." L.W.
